q-bio Conference Introduction

The purpose of the Annual q-bio Conference is to advance predictive modeling of cellular regulatory systems, which involves not only modeling but also quantitative experimentation, technology development, and theoretical advances. Topics discussed at the meeting include coordinated modeling and experimental characterization of cellular information-processing and decision-making phenomena, theoretical understanding of design principles, and new tools needed for advancing the agenda of the conference. Participants tend to study diverse biological systems but apply a shared pool of methodologies and conceptual frameworks.

The q-bio Conference is not affiliated with arXiv.q-bio, but symbiotically coordinates with it.

The origin of the term q-bio is explained here: http://q-bio.org/wiki/Origin_of_the_term_q-bio

The Eighth q-bio Conference will be held on August 13th through August 16th, 2014.
