Software Integration Developer

 
The New Mexico Consortium (NMC) in Los Alamos, NM, is non-profit corporation formed by the three New Mexico research universities in order to facilitate research in the state of New Mexico, and specifically to increase research collaborations between universities, industry and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The NMC provides agile and accountable operations to execute joint initiatives in science, education and economic development.
 
Work is in support of the Exascale Computing Project (ECP), specifically under the Software Deployment at Facilities project under the Hardware and Integration focus area. The this project targets development and deployment of a framework and process for continuous testing and integration of software at the DOE HPC Facilities supporting ECP software products, ECP applications and site software environments that includes vendor software stacks. A necessary process to ensure that software can be built and integrated into diverse architectures and associated user environments that will be found at the DOE Facilities. The position is immediately available.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Programming language experience building and linking HPC codes with C, C++, Fortran, Python. Some golang and Ruby experience a plus for GitLab development.
  • Experience doing software development for build, release, and test automation.
  • Continuous Integration experience using Git based environments.
  • Software build and packaging experience. Spack (HPC multi-platform software package manager).
  • Excellent planning, organization, and execution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a cross organization and distributed team.
  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. with relevant software integration and development experience.
The salary will be $80,000~120,000 commensurate with education, experience and expertise.  Benefits include a relocation allowance, group health, dental, life and disability and a retirement plan.

Associate Research Scientist

 
New Mexico Consortium (newmexicoconsortium.org) has immediate opening for a Research Scientist with expertise in either virology/viral delivery, bioinformatics, cell biology, and/or parasitology. Candidates with multiple competencies are preferred but it is not a prerequisite. Ideal candidates should have a PhD and postdoctoral experience in related fields as well as an excellent publication record. This job requires creative and critical thinking, ambition to excel, the ability to work independently, and availability to work long days to meet deadlines. Starting salaries range from $75,000-$90,000/yr depending on experience and productivity.

This is a regular full-time position in Los Alamos at the NMC Biolab.   Purchasing Specialist will handle  Biolab needs for equipment, materials, and supplies, following a budget and keeping records of all transactions.  Purchasing Specialist will handle facility maintenance and other related contracted services and will serve as back-up for other Biolab support staff. Microalgal Biotechnology Research Service Position

The NMC is offering an opportunity for an interested candidate to participate in exploratory research at the NMC Biological Laboratory. This is a part-time unpaid service position, with a minimum level of effort of 10 hrs/week.Our plant biology initiative performs basic research with impacts on sustainable energy production through biofuels, food security and climate induced ecological change. This is a valuable opportunity for a graduate student, retired scientist, or scientist re-entering the workforce to help advance original research, participate in the scientific publication process, hone laboratory skills and collaborate with other researchers at the NMC.

Responsibilities:

The research will involve PCR screening of transgenic algae. Duties will include:

  • Development of trait-specific bioassays
  • Evaluating gene regulation
  • Developing plasmid constructs
  • Help design and conduct scientific experimental protocols
  • Provide rigorous data assessment and result reports
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in microbiology, molecular biology or comparable discipline
  • Competence in molecular biology techniques
  • Experience working under sterile laboratory conditions
