33rd Annual Supercomputing Challenge Kickoff A Success!
The 2022/23 Supercomputing Challenge Kickoff was held October 22-23, 2022 at New Mexico Tech in Socorro, NM. About 80 of the 169 registered participants were able to attend the 33rd Annual Kickoff in person.
On Saturday, participating students attended the Keynote speech, various classes, and a pizza party followed by another Keynote and evening elective classes. On Sunday students attended morning classes, lunch, and a Keynote from the first place winners from the previous year.
Teams also attended a Meet the Scientist event where they worked on focusing their ideas down to a manageable topic. They also divided up tasks and begin research.
Note that project proposals from participating students are due TODAY, October 31st.
Students struggling to finish their proposal can contact consult@supercomputingchallenge.org to set up a Meet The Scientist time for their team to talk through and get the beginning of their project started.
Keynotes and some class sessions recorded for those who could not attend in person. These can be found at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhV9wXopd3ytfEd0-fWmG_AWN0p_MiCEd
