How One School Turned “I hate math” into “I love math”

At Blanco Elementary in Northern New Mexico, teachers and students used to struggle with math. That changed with the help of the Math Teacher Leader Network (MTLN). The MTLN is a unique partnership between schools and Los Alamos National Laboratory. Through collaborative lesson planning, peer observation, and ongoing improvement cycles, the school has seen a remarkable shift in how math is taught and how students feel about learning it.
