NMC ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: MEET OUR COLLABORATORS
Economic Development: One goal of the NMC is to encourage local economic development in northern New Mexico. We do this by developing partnerships with and supporting emerging start-up companies. The NMC supports our industrial collaborators as they develop cutting-edge technologies by providing facilities, equipment, conference services, professional support and management expertise. Some of the industrial collaborators at the NMC include:
Pajarito Cloud Computing

Pajarito Cloud Computing (PCC) specializes in enhancing performance for hard-to-scale applications by optimizing HPC node resources. Currently PCC is focused on increasing the performance of VASP compute products, but plans to expand the use of their performance analysis tools to other computational science applications. PCC works to lower computational costs for workflows that significantly benefit from optimization between hardware configuration and the application capabilities. PCC services are available for providing guidance for a variety of HPC infrastructures.
Prosel Biosciences

Prosel Biosciences has developed Selenoexpress™ – a selenoprotein engineering and expression platform in recombinant green algae – to modify and produce commodity-scale industrial enzymes and human therapeutic proteins with enhanced catalytic activity and in vivo stability, resulting in desirable functional biochemical properties with added commercial value. The company will out-license worldwide exclusive rights to several granted patents from Richard Sayre Consulting (RSC) and New Mexico Consortium (NMC).
Spartina Biotechnologies

Spartina Biotechnologies is developing a safe, fast-acting new medication called SIREN™, not a vaccine, but an antiviral therapeutic that blocks the ability of viruses to replicate and activates an immune response within the patient within hours.
Recent reports show adults have failing confidence about the safety of existing solutions and vaccines for COVID-19. Spartina’s goal is to provide a safe, effective, and affordable alternative to vaccines that can change the course of COVID-19 and other viruses in the world.
Specifica

Specifica is a New Mexico based company focused on providing the next generation of human antibody engineering and discovery solutions. Specifica’s technology delivers high-affinity human antibodies with desired characteristics. Their native human antibody libraries provide powerful and exclusive in-house discovery capabilities.
Trenza Synergy

Trenza is High Performance Computing startup focusing on collection and analysis of application and system performance metrics. Its initial product is a low overhead tool that can be incorporated into the development processes of continuous integration, system testing, and as a standalone analysis tool. Performance studies are also provided.
The holistic analysis of metrics from both system and application are key to increase the capability to scale and increase computational throughput
UbiQD

UbiQD, a Los Alamos based startup company, manufactures quantum dots, and develops window tints that turn skyscrapers into renewable energy power plants.
While UbiQD also has developed an agriculture product around their unique nanomaterials. Quantum dot films are now used in greenhouses to tailor the solar spectrum to give plants better quality light, which enhances photosynthesis. UbiQD also sells materials for R&D purposes and provides materials technology development services.
Pebble Labs USA Inc.

Pebble Labs USA Inc. is working to eliminate pathogens in agriculture, aquaculture and vector-borne diseases. Pebble Labs accomplishes this safely and sustainably without herbicides, pesticides and antibiotics.
Through the process of transbiotics, Pebble Labs uses naturally occurring bacteria to produce double-stranded RNA. These RNA are designed to inhibit the expression of genes in only the targeted pathogens and pests. This is accomplished without harming the environment, the host organism or humans.
