After careful consideration of the evolving worldwide spread of COVID-19, it is with regret we announce the postponement of the International Conference on Engineering Synthetic Cells and Organelles (SYNCELL 2020) scheduled for May 11-14, 2020 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We believe this is the best option for the health and safety of speakers, attendees, and organizers. New conference dates are being discussed by the organizers and will be communicated in the near future.
This conference, sponsored in part by the New Mexico Consortium, will focus on bottom-up synthetic biology* and will firmly establish the state-of-the-art of, and grand challenges and opportunities for, synthetic cell technology. It features world leaders in synthetic cell technology from premier US and German universities and national laboratories. The conference will include educational components, both for aspiring young researchers in the form of in-depth and interactive tutorials, and for the general public, in the form of a featured public lecture from a luminary in the field of synthetic cell technology.
Conference highlights include:
- Invited and contributed talks by leaders in synthetic cell technology
- 1-day of interactive tutorials for students
- Poster session
- Dynamic networking among diverse disciplines and approaches
