Join NMC’s ackathon series on February 18th, 9am-3pm at LA Research Park

Come join the New Mexico Consortium‘s ℏackathon series on February 18th, 0900-1500, at the Learning Center @ NMC (Classroom 203 at the Los Alamos Research Park building): We will deep dive into the exciting quantum platforms QuEra Computing has to offer.

The morning session, from 0900-1100, will be a colloquium on quantum error correction, presented by Pedro Lopes. (For more information, visit quera.com/quantum-error-correction/.)

Pedro Lopes is QuEra Computing’s Quantum Advocate. He works at the intersection of algorithm development, application contextualization, research administration, and education. He evaluates quantum computing applications across various industries, coordinates QuEra’s user and executive education programs, and supports the development and coordination of strategic initiatives with universities and government entities.

The afternoon session from 1300-1500 will feature Los Alamos National Laboratory application teams and their upcoming research projects on QuEra’s Aquila system.

The ℏackathon series bridges the gap between academic workflows and commercial quantum clouds by building connections between hardware experts and theoreticians, to enable impactful science and ultimately foster community bonds.
