NMC Participates in STEM Boomerang Job Fair

On Friday, December 20, 2019, the New Mexico Consortium (NMC) participated in the STEM Boomerang job fair and holiday mix, held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Electric Playhouse in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The NMC joined a wide range of professionals and organizations representing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), including nonprofits, national laboratories, industry partners, business leaders, and government officials.

The event, known as the “Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Expo,” or E3, is designed to bring together New Mexico’s STEM community in support of a shared goal: helping to stop brain drain by connecting talented professionals, students, and graduates with career opportunities within the state. By highlighting local employers and resources, the annual event provides an important platform for encouraging STEM talent to build their futures in New Mexico.

This year’s job fair featured 35 companies and organizations and offered attendees the opportunity to learn more about career paths, professional development, and the growing innovation ecosystem across the region. The event was held at the new Electric Playhouse, which was scheduled to open on February 1, 2020. The venue, designed to offer digital entertainment, dining, and immersive experiences, provided participants with a sneak preview of its interactive entertainment space.

The NMC was pleased to take part in this collaborative event and to support efforts that strengthen New Mexico’s STEM workforce, encourage local career development, and connect emerging talent with opportunities throughout the state.
