Are you an undergraduate or graduate student with an interest in engineering, physics, national security, or nuclear nonproliferation? Applications are now open for the NSSC-LANL Dr. G. Robert Keeping Nonproliferation Science Summer Program., an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of the nation’s most important scientific fields.

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) will host its annual Dr. G. Robert Keepin Nonproliferation Science Summer Program from June 17 through August 9, 2024. During this immersive eight-week internship, students will explore how cutting-edge science, engineering, and technology are used to address the evolving challenges of nuclear proliferation and global security.

The program combines hands-on training with classroom learning, offering participants a unique blend of seminars, technical presentations, facility tours, and research experiences. Students will work alongside leading scientists and engineers while gaining exposure to the innovative tools, technologies, and research facilities that make Los Alamos a world leader in national security science.

Designed to bring together approximately 20 outstanding university students and a select group of experts in the nonproliferation community, the program provides an unparalleled opportunity to learn from leaders in the field, collaborate with peers from across the country, and develop valuable professional skills. Participants will also gain insight into the critical role science and technology play in reducing global nuclear threats and strengthening international security.
