John R. Engen
Chief Executive Officer
John is responsible for the leadership, management, and strategic direction of the organization. He became the CEO of the New Mexico Consortium in 2023 after spending over 25 years studying proteins with mass spectrometry. Most of his career was spent at Northeastern University in Boston where he rose to become a Distinguished Professor and the James L. Waters Endowed Chair in Analytical Chemistry.
Dr. Engen has a Ph.D. in Chemistry and B.S. degrees in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at The University of New Mexico. LinkedIn, Google Scholar

Irina Izvekova
Chief Operating Officer
Irina has managed NMC business operations since 2008. Irina organizes the business and administrative functions of NMC and establishes the duties and systems necessary to carry out the activities of NMC. She has primary responsibility for policy, strategy and implementation with regard to facilities, compliance and safety, procurement, contracting and research administration, and human resources.
Irina holds a Master’s Degree in Linguistics, and she has worked as a translator, a writer, and a teacher.

Greg Dye
Chief Financial Officer
Gregory Dye has a Masters of Business Administration degree from New Mexico State University and 22 years of experience in finance management including as a Chief Financial Officer, a Senior Financial Analyst and as an Assistant Professor of Finance and Management.

Jenny Parks
Senior Director of Strategy and Outreach
Jenny is responsible for the overall strategy of the New Mexico Consortium, as well as
government relations, events, communications and community outreach.
Jenny has been a non-profit and philanthropic leader in New Mexico for over 27 years. Rooted
deeply in her love for community, Jenny has worked in and advocated for public education,
rural development, public health, work force development and conservation. She has been the
CEO of two New Mexico foundations (the LANL Foundation and New Mexico Community
Foundation- combined for 15 years) and the State Director of the national non-profit, Trust for
Public Land, where she led dozens of conservation projects throughout the southwest including
the Santa Fe Railyard Park and Plaza, conservation of Santa Fe’s Sun Mountain and protection
of the portreros behind the Santuario de Chimayo. She co-founded two thriving non-profits:
the Railyard Conservancy and NewMexicoWomen.Org.
She also has experience as a commercial real estate attorney and developer. She is a graduate
of Santa Fe High School, the University of Texas and the University of Texas -School of Law and
lives in Santa Fe with her husband.
