nEDM2023 – The 5th Workshop on Searches for a Neutron Electric Dipole Moment Coming in November

nEDM2023 is the fifth workshop in a continuing series dedicated to addressing the scientific and technical challenges of the worldwide experimental search for the neutron electric dipole moment (nEDM). The workshop is jointly organized by Los Alamos National Laboratory, the University of Michigan, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

The workshop will take place November 6–9, 2023, at the beautiful Hotel Santa Fe, Hacienda & Spa in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

nEDM2023 will bring together researchers from around the world to discuss recent advances, ongoing developments, and future directions in neutron EDM research. Scientific topics to be covered include:

  • Experimental techniques for EDM measurements
  • Sources of ultracold neutrons
  • Transport, storage, and handling of ultracold neutrons
  • Magnetic field sensing and monitoring
  • Magnetic field control and stabilization
  • High-voltage systems and electric field control
  • Simulation and modeling tools
  • Systematic effects and uncertainty reduction
  • Theoretical foundations and interpretations
  • Related electric dipole moment searches and experiments

The workshop provides a unique opportunity for collaboration and knowledge exchange among scientists working at the forefront of precision measurements and fundamental physics.
