International Conference on Engineering Synthetic Cells and Organelles
The International Conference on Engineering Synthetic Cells and Organelles, sponsored in part by the New Mexico Consortium, will take place May 11–14 at the Drury Plaza Hotel in historic Santa Fe, New Mexico.
See the conference webpage here.
The conference will bring together leading researchers from around the world to discuss advances in bottom-up synthetic biology and the rapidly evolving field of synthetic cell technology. Participants will explore the current state of the art, as well as the grand challenges and future opportunities involved in designing and engineering synthetic cells and organelles.
The program features internationally recognized experts from premier U.S. and German universities and national laboratories who are helping to shape the future of synthetic biology. In addition to scientific presentations, the conference will include educational opportunities for both emerging researchers and the broader community. Aspiring scientists will benefit from in-depth, interactive tutorials, while members of the public will have the opportunity to attend a featured lecture by a distinguished leader in synthetic cell technology.
Topic areas for the main program will include:
- Strategies to Create Synthetic Cells & Organelles
- Spatial & Temporal Organization of Synthetic Cytoplasmic Structures
- Signaling & Circuits
- Molecular Machines, Mechanics & Motility
- Implications of Synthetic Cell Technology
The conference is expected to foster collaboration across disciplines and provide a forum for discussing the scientific, technological, and societal impacts of advances in synthetic cell research.
